Super Cloner is a hierarchy cloning and renaming tool for Layout. You can clone hierarchies starting at any root-point. The hierarchies can contain any mixture of objects, bones, lights, and cameras. There are renaming options so you can replace text, delete text (just leave the "with" field of blank), and add prefixes and/or suffixes. If you uncheck the Clone button you can use Super Cloner as a naming, rather than cloning tool. Super Cloner also has a mirroring option (see Known Problems below).
Changes
in Beta 03:
- Requires LScript
2.2.2.
- Bone mirroring
is now functional.
- Should work on both Mac and PC.
Changes
in Beta 02:
- Due to a bug in
LScript 2.2, I have removed the popup menu that allowed you to choose the root.
Instead, the root is the item that is selected when you run Super Cloner. This
will be fixed in the future.
- Camera renaming should work properly now.
- A "Show Progess" option has been added. If you select this option,
you can watch the action. This can give you some peace of mind when cloning
huge hierarchies, but it does take longer.
Super Cloner Beta 03 is a Generic Run-Time LScript. Use LW_LScript/RT to run it, or add it as a pluggin and map it to a key or menu. This version (Beta 03) will not work with LightWave versions older than 6.5b and requires LScript 2.2.2.

Known Problems: Currently cloned IK will point to the original goals, so manual resetting is required. I'll look into automating that in the future.
Please let me know if you create a hierarchy that crashes Super Cloner (other than a hierarchy that is so large it overwhelms your system). It is kinda fun to watch your schematic view as you clone a 500 item tree...until you crash.
Note to Mac users: I used to think that Mac versions had to be compiled on a Mac. Apparently this is not the case. LScripts compiled on the PC should work on the Mac, but there was a bug that was preventing this. That bug was supposedly fixed in LScript version 2.2.2, so Beta version 03 should work with both Mac and PC. Mac users please let me know if you have trouble.
I take no responsibility for any grief this LScript may cause you and make no warranty regarding its effectiveness.
